About ..

Ydna Live create events amongst the beachside communities... from boats on the River Thames, to the Watering-hole on Perranporth beach, you can find beach crew everywhere.

We’ve been around a while in one form or another .. and some how seem to have worked with a lot of Australian Touring acts in waves, we’re on round 3 now and enjoying it.

Proud to have promoted international artists including the likes of Donovan Frankenrieter, Beau Young, Reef, Xavier Rudd, Ben Howard, The Beautiful Girls, Sticky Fingers and many more.

Since 2005 Ydna has been crafting events; it started with the Ydna store which had various tag-lines .. surf skate sounds .. boardriders and finally Live as the music side became the forefront of Ydna. The first year anniversary party in 2005 was a sold out punk rock show, and with the End of Summer Boardriders Party 2006 coming close to 300 attendees I realised there was a community waiting for events.

The humble surf film had a great influence on the artists I have worked with .. the Billabong ‘Freeway’ introduced Xavier Rudd (2008 & 2010 shows) & The Beautiful Girls (first of the Ozzies to arrive in 2007) .. the Surf Film Shelter - Donavon Frankenrieter (2006 & 2008 shows) .. Single Fin Yellow - Beau Young (now a good friend and a few shows deep) ..

I became the production runner at the O2 Academy Bournemouth at the end of 2012 (stoked to have worked for Dua Lipa, Jack Black, Robert Plant, Stormzy and many more) which lasted right until 2021 with the return of live music after covid with a Wolf Alice show - by September 2021 I was honoured to hang up the running shoes and walk up the stairs at the venue to be Deputy General Manager, 300 events later, in March 2024 I left to work on promotions, bookings & back end of shows once more.

Through 2009 to 2012 we were lucky enough to put on Ben Howard a total of 5 times ! and are really looking forward to his long awaited return after 12 years at the BIC this October.

Yes, that is 57 million views on this Sticky Fingers clip of Cyclone with the Ydna geetar - it ended up on a European tour after the UK leg. We hosted the first ever UK Sticky Fingers show at the Winchester, Bournemouth!

The music accompaniment is by Matthew P, a cover of Bob Dylan's 'don't think twice, it's alright'. From the surf film by Jimmy James Kinnaird, produced by Deus ex Machina featuring the talents of Ellis Ericson, Jason Salisbury, Tyler Warren. We released an album with Matt and a few tours.
